Our Story

Equality Enforcer came to be.....

After George Floyd died, as many people did, I had this urge to create change. I also wanted to make sure that anyone in a discriminated class knew that I was there for them. During this time in Minnesota, it was extremely divided, and I did not want anyone to feel they were alone, I was going to be there.

I am also aware that not everyone wants to put themselves directly into a situation where discrimination is taking place, and that is fine. I often say there are three types of Equality Enforcers, and whichever is you, is ok.

Type 1 Equality Enforcer- In the moment, saying something to stop whatever is being witnessed, of course being done safely and respectfully.

Type 2 Equality Enforcer- After the situation has calmed down, you may walk over to the victim and make sure he/she knows you are there for them and will continue to be.

Type 3 Equality Enforcer- After the conflict and you have time to reflect, you think about what you could have said, or what you want to say next time. Even if you don't, you have good intentions, and that is what matters.
